The Hot stamping process does not use ink when printing. It is a heat and pressed method of printing, where a machine flat surface heats ( anywhere from 95 degrees, up to 140 degrees) and then presses the foil paper down onto the desired product to be printed on eg: business cards, stickers, and then stamps the product being printed. So foil printing doesn’t print coloured photos or coloured images, but works best for simply logos.
The main benefit of hot stamping is that each item is manually placed onto the printing table and not automatically fed. It allows any items with a flat surface ( generally not exceeding 20mm) to be stamped.
